Then to help you understand the main concepts, read UNIT 2 pages 20 (Dots and circles), 24 (Lines) and 26 (Planes) and 28 (Texture).

When you are ready, do the test to prove your knowledge.

Now you are really an expert in Kandinsky, do the activity on page 27.

But, DON´T FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. The aim of this excercise is TO CREATE A FREE COMPOSITION INSPIRED BY WORKS OF THE FAMOUS GENIUS WASSILY KANDINSKY.

Create new shapes, use dots, lines, planes, textures and color.

Use CONCENTRATION, DISPERSION, DIFFERENT KIND OF LINES, OVERLAPPING PLANES, CHIAROSCURO, GRAPHIC TEXTURES...(If you need it , watch again the video of activity 1)

You must color your work being very creative and with a fine technique. USE MARKERS AND COLORED PENCILS.

ACTIVITY 3. (Optional)

Watch this short stop motion film.

Could you do something similar? Don´t worry, you will only use three geometric shapes. Draw a triangle, circle and a square. Color them and cut them out. Move them around the floor or on a table...

There is a limit to how many frames you need to take per second. Professional stop motion uses 24 fps (frames per second). You could get a very good effect of motion using 15 fps. The duration of the film is free, but try to get to the minimun of 5 seconds.

To help you create your stop motion film, here you have a good tutorial (in Spanish).
